About the Shoemakers
and JP Patios
Small, local, and family-run to ensure high quality
Beginning as a second job in the summer of 2001, former Wissahickon history teacher, Jim Shoemaker, combined his love for working outside and historical forms of construction into a full-time career of landscape architecture. Jim established JP Patios in 2008 with his brother, Pete Shoemaker, and has since designed and hand-built hundreds of hardscapes; including patios, walkways, steps, fireplaces, natural-stone walls, and more. JP Patios now consists of Jim and his two sons, Jim Jr and Colin. By keeping our operation small, local, and family-run, we can ensure every project is of the highest quality, and that the customer has an enjoyable installation experience. We are always on site to answer questions and adjust plans as needed, saving you the headache of dealing with subcontractors and project delays.
